Football Assassination

July 3, 2010 8 comments

Yesterday, July 2nd Brazil played against Holland in the 2010 worldcup quarter final. Today July 3rd, Germany played against Argentina.
Brazil and Argentina lost. However that is not the big deal or the shocking factor. What shocked me and left me with a huge sarcastic sad smile on my face, was the fact that the mobile coverage in Beirut was down.
As if the assassination days are back… No one was able to call, receive or sms. Even our sorry ass wap  connection was down.
I mean Brazil and Argentina lost big boohoo, but of course we as brazilian by origin and blood we will be bombarded with condolences calls or with mockery calls by our German or Holland originated friends. It is not enough that the network coverage sucks already… Noo, we need half of the lebanese people calling the other half, to really test the strength and the infra super structure of both Alfa and MTC.
I still can’t believe that I wasn’t able to make a phone call after Brazil lost?? Am I obliged to endure the 30 to 45 min mourning period?? And the messages I was getting on my phone were hilarious: congestion- no network coverage and the famous call failed.

To the lebanese football fans AKA official representatives of Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Italy (hahaha), France (hahahahahahahahaha)  take it easy.

To our dear (not) GSM providers, Alfa and MTC you SUCK.

“I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Allow me then to say , we are well, I am very upset … don’t worry i’ll get over it . But nevertheless i’m very upset that long time ago we can’t believe them anymore … and i’m very angry that there are still who do .

April 13, for some (a few some) is a date that in public , an occasion to remember all the cliche words to say, as if words can undo actions and can bring people back from the dead . And for others (Total – “few some”) it is the beginning of their new sets of memories.

Memories of them wearing black, holding pictures of there dead ones, missing ones . Holding one last piece of torn cloth full of blood or what they hope a scent…

April 13, I wasn’t there , many of us as well, all i can remember , is some sounds and alot of faces in that shelter and Picon boxes… i swear, sounds and picon that is all… (for those who doesn’t know, picon is a “French” yellow cheese that tastes like crap ).

Well enough about April 13, lets talk about the real event here… a FootBall match (#PoliticiansFoot), i can’t but pass a small laugh here , yesterday i laughed a lot though…

Seriously!!! Seriously!! i believe they decided in one of their “Meetings” on the theme for this year Commemoration  ” LETS GRAB IT BY THE BALL” .

A few Km away , the widows, the moms, the children had a theme as well  : “MISSING”… yes, hundreds of missing men and women (بييسو دموع العين) decided to increase their pain, by putting up a larger picture of the one they used to hold of their beloved ones… maybe those PLAYERS, can see it, can stop disregarding it…

But you know what, if they had some balls , they would have formed teams and teams of concerned “politicians” to end those grieving women pain. they would have sweat and ran till the last breath to make up for their mistakes, and to bring home he who has someone holding his photo or a piece of their cloth… alive or on shoulders…

Yes, I am UPSET, and I am ANGRY
